Mount Pleasant Dental Restoration Procedures
As with any other practice or industry, there is always room for improvement within the dental industry. One form of improvement is to use technology to serve a specific purpose or solve a problem. If you’re looking for a good Mt Pleasant dentist, consider someone who makes every effort to find and offer his patients the latest and best technology the field of dentistry has available.
Have you ever been to the dentist and were asked to return a few weeks later for the same procedure? If you have, you are not alone. As a matter of fact, this happens to a lot of patients who require complex dental work like crowns and veneers. Needless to say, this can be quite a hassle—there is truth in the saying that, ‘Time is gold.’ People would rather spend time doing things other than going to the dentist repeatedly to have one procedure completed. This is where a technologically-advanced Mt Pleasant dental practice can make a huge difference.
Several reliable dentists use the CEREC system. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, better known as ceramic reconstruction. Using modern technology, CEREC allows dentists to create dental restorations in a short amount of time. Patients’ teeth can be restored in just one visit–saving them the trouble of having to go in for multiple appointments, which is usually the case when using traditional restoratives and techniques.
In the CEREC procedure, the tooth to be restored is assessed by a three-dimensional camera. The captures are then uploaded into the main CEREC computer. Using the images taken, computer aided design software makes a blueprint of how much ceramic material will be used and how it will be shaped to restore the damaged teeth. The milling of the ceramic material is also controlled through the CEREC computer.
Do you need crowns, veneers, inlays, or onlays? Contact our Mount Pleasant dental office. Whether you need a CEREC procedure or any other dental treatment, we are the people to talk to.
