He is involved in many professional organizations including The South Carolina Dental Association, The Seattle Study Club, The Academy of General Dentistry and is a past president of The Coastal District Dental Society. Dr. Gardner spends many hours promoting organized dentistry with SCDA and is chairman of the public relations task force. He became a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 2008. The award requires completion of 500 hours of approved continuing education credits. A maximum of 150 credit hours can be earned in each of the 16 dental subjects. This award ceremony took place in Orlando, Florida. He, along with 6 other dentists in South Carolina received this award. Only 7% of dentists in the United States have achieved this high honor. He is married to Roberta Gardner with whom he has two daughters, Sophie and Lydia. His hobbies include: running, soccer, playing the drums and boating. He was very excited to sell his boat in May 2007. |
